What's it about?
The Koala North West ‘Kind Words & Play Programme’ is aimed at supporting parents make positive changes in how they communicate and play with their children. Giving support to better understand their child, their emotions, behaviours and triggers.
Initial contact with a family will involve a discussion about the programme, and a requirement to commit to the full five weeks. A parent pack will contain comprehensive information about the course, stratagies for dealing with challenging behaviour, and give an understanding of why these may be occurring.
Through talking, keeping diaries, and monitoring progress on an outcome check list, families are tasked with following fun activities. Increasing parental confidence and ability, looking forward to spending time together as a family, and having respect, compassion and empathy for each other.
