Short breaks club
Our short break club sessions provide a stimulating and fun play environment for children with complex needs and their siblings.
who is it for?
‘Short break club’ is especially for children with complex needs and their siblings, up until the age of 7 years.
what people say
“Short breaks has had a very positive impact on us. It gives us the opportunity to do things that the children find difficult, like shopping. I know they are safe and having fun and I have some time to go and do what I need to.”
what's it about?
‘Short breaks club’ is about giving parents or carers the opportunity to take 2 hours respite, safe in the knowledge that your child is being looked after in a safe environment. This could be to do the family shop, spend quality time with your other children or simply to have some time to yourself. Your child will be kept occupied with messy and sensory play, song and story time, along with the use of Makaton, to help promote early communication.
when is it?
‘Short break club’ sessions run on Saturdays and during the school holidays. Places must be pre-booked and availability is dependant on care needs. Please note that we operate a ‘fair access scheme’, to ensure allocation of places is in a fair manner.
