Dave's Double challenge for Koala NW
This year, Dave is taking on two incredible challenges to raise funds for Koala North West: the Chester Marathon on 11th October and the Wirral Winter 36 Mile Ultra on 14th November.
Dave is running to give back to a charity that supported his family when they needed it most.
During Amy’s pregnancy, she was referred to Koala North West through the perinatal mental health team and joined our Womb to World antenatal programme. Following the traumatic birth of their son, Ollie, our practitioner Maggie continued to support the family through breastfeeding sessions, groups, and home visits, helping them navigate the challenges of early parenthood.
Amy says the support, guidance, and reassurance they received made all the difference during what felt like an overwhelming time.
Today, Ollie is a happy, thriving 18-month-old, and Dave and Amy are passionate about helping other families access the same support they received.
Having only started running earlier this year, Dave decided to turn his new hobby into something meaningful and raise funds for the charity he says “supported us every step of the way.”
We are incredibly grateful to Dave for taking on these two huge challenges. Every mile he runs will help us continue supporting families across our community.
