Family Support Home Visiting Mentor

Koala NW volunteer support is at the heart of what we do and we know how much our families appreciate the support our volunteers offer.

Following comprehensive training, you will be visiting families in their own home once a week for an hour or two.

Every family we support is unique so the support that we offer is equally unique. You will be matched with a family to offer emotional and practical support, you in turn will receive ongoing support and regular supervision from a coordinator.

Stay & Play Volunteer

Koala NW provide sessions for children and their parents, where they can actively play and engage with other children and their families in a safe environment.

The role is about inspiring parents to become an active participant in their children’s play and help them support their child’s learning and development.

Good communication and interpersonal skills are essential, along with a natural flair to make people feel at ease in your company.

You will get to develop your knowledge and skills in child development and early years, working alongside a trained Early Learning Coordinator

Volunteer Visual Merchandiser

Do you have an eye for design and a creative flair?

Your ability to make eye-catching windows and inviting displays could be just what we need!

Help us to show off our fabulous donated stock at our charity shops. You will have the ability to see the potential in clothes, accessories and other goods, to design eye-catching visual displays that create an atmosphere which will entice customers into the shop.

You in turn will get the opportunity to develop your retail experience, meet new people and be part of a supportive team. Make a positive difference to our community, in a role that can be flexible around any other commitments you may have.

Volunteer Portable (Electrical) Appliance Tester (PAT)

We are looking for PAT Testers to support the friendly teams at our Moreton and Claughton Village shops.

Volunteer PAT testers play a critical role testing the electrical safety of appliances prior to their sale, along with any other electrical equipment used in the shops.

No experience is required, as full training and an induction will be given.

Empower Us Volunteer

This project offers practical and emotional support to families in a group setting.

We work with families within Wirral, Ellesmere Port and Neston, who have a child up to 11 years old with additional needs. This is achieved by arranging activities and events specifically designed for children with complex needs.

We need volunteers who are proactive and energetic when engaging with children, have a non-judgemental attitude towards parenting and family life, and can provide that listening ear.

PIMH (Parent Infant Mental Health Volunteer)

PIMH is a service designed to support parents who are expecting a baby, have recently given birth, or have a child under the age of two.

These can be difficult times if parents are experiencing emotional or mental health difficulties. The service is about supporting those early relationships between parents and their children, not just in relation to their physical health, but their emotional and social development too.

Comprehensive training includes specific sessions in relation to this important role, giving you the ability and confidence  to offer emotional support to parents striving to improve their relationship with their child. You will benefit from regular support and supervision from the PIMHS Coordinator, alongside useful peer support.

Social Media Volunteer

This is an exciting opportunity for anyone passionate about social media.

You will be involved in establishing and/or maintaining social media accounts, by researching and drafting  creative content for different social media channels. 

You will need to familiarise yourself with the  range of services offered by Koala NW, keep up to date with current trends, and develop innovative ways to drive online engagement.

You in turn will get to meet new people, and be part of a supportive, committed team.

E-sales Assistant

Volunteering in our stockroom, you will help us raise money to support local families and their children.

This is an interesting and varied role, involving research and valuing items online, writing descriptions and photographing items using an online listing tool. Dispatching orders and reviewing the progress of online sales.

No experience is required, as full training and an induction will be given.

You in turn will get to meet new people, and be part of a supportive, committed team.
