Bump, baby & beyond is a service designed to support parents who are expecting a baby, have recently given birth, or have a child under the age of two. These can be difficult times if parents are experiencing emotional or mental health difficulties. The service is about supporting those early relationships between parents and their children, not just in relation to their physical health, but their emotional and social development too. Comprehensive training includes specific sessions in relation to this important role, giving you the ability and confidence  to offer emotional support to parents striving to improve their relationship with their child. You will benefit from regular support and supervision from the Bump, Baby & Beyond Coordinator, alongside useful peer support.

This project offers practical and emotional support to families in a group setting. We work with families within Wirral, Ellesmere Port and Neston, who have a child up to 11 years old with additional needs. This is achieved by arranging activities and events specifically designed for children with complex needs. We need volunteers who are proactive and energetic when engaging with children, have a non-judgemental attitude towards parenting and family life, and can provide that listening ear.

Koala NW volunteer support is at the heart of what we do and we know how much our families appreciate the support our volunteers offer. Following comprehensive training, you will be visiting families in their own home once a week for an hour or two. Every family we support is unique so the support that we offer is equally unique. You will be matched with a family to offer emotional and practical support, you in turn will receive ongoing support and regular supervision from a co-ordinator.
