Sleep Service
Our Sleep Service supports families who have a child aged 2–16 years and are struggling with sleep problems that are affecting everyday family life. This may include bedtime difficulties, waking during the night, or waking very early in the morning.
Who can use this service?
We support families with children who:
- Find it hard to settle at bedtime
- Wake often during the night
- Wake very early in the morning
- Have sleep difficulties linked to behaviour, learning, or wellbeing
- Live in Ellsemere Port or the Wirral and meet the above criteria
- Live in Cheshire and Wirral and have a diagnosis of Autism (ASC) or ADHD, or are currently waiting for an assessment
Families in Wirral can also access a teen text service to support sleep for teenagers age 13 to 16 years old.
Support is shaped around your child and your family and may include a flexible combination of:
- Phone calls
- Video appointments
- Written guidance and resources
- Email and text support
- Postal resources where appropriate
We work at your pace, focusing on what will make the biggest difference for your child’s sleep and your family’s wellbeing.
How we can help
At Koala North West, we understand how exhausting sleep difficulties can be for the whole family. Our trained Sleep Practitioners work alongside parents and carers to create realistic sleep routines that suit each child and family.
We offer:
- One-to-one sleep support over six weeks
- Support by phone, video call, text or email.
- Group sleep courses with other parents and carers
- Online and face-to-face sessions
- Practical tips and advice tailored to your child’s needs
Teen Sleep Text Support (Wirral only)
For young people aged 13+, we offer a Teen Sleep Text Support service. Families receive one WhatsApp message each week for four weeks with:
- Voice notes
- Sleep tips and guidance
- Helpful links and resources
This is a remote support service and does not include direct contact with a Sleep Practitioner.
Sleep courses for parents and carers
We also run structured sleep courses where parents and carers can learn more about:
- Sleep routines and sleep cycles
- Common causes of sleep difficulties
- Bedtime strategies
- Managing night waking
- Creating calmer evenings and better sleep habits
Courses are delivered by trained Sleep Practitioners and also give families the chance to connect with others experiencing similar challenges.
What families say
“The course was amazing, the information shared was really helpful and the opportunity to connect with other parents facing similar challenges made me feel less alone”
“Things changed for our family in a matter of weeks.”
